Rental Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before completing your booking. By renting with us, you agree to the following.

Eligibility

Renters must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license. All renters must complete our one-time screening process and receive approval before booking. We reserve the right to decline any application.

Young Driver Surcharge

Renters aged 21–24 are subject to a daily young driver surcharge. This fee is calculated based on your date of birth and displayed at checkout before you confirm your booking.

Deposit & Payment

A booking deposit is charged at booking to secure your reservation and is applied toward your total rental cost. The remaining balance is collected at pickup, along with a separate refundable security deposit that is returned after the vehicle is checked in, less any amount withheld for damage, cleaning, or unpaid fees. Accepted payment methods include credit/debit card, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, and cash. The booking deposit and security deposit amounts are fixed rates set by Yoshi Car Rental.

Minimum Rental Period

The minimum rental period is 3 days unless otherwise specified on the individual vehicle listing. Shorter rentals are not available.

Fuel Policy

All vehicles go out at a quarter tank. Renters are required to return the vehicle at a quarter tank or above. Returning below a quarter tank will result in an $85 refueling fee charged after vehicle return.

Late Returns

A $25 per day (or partial day) late return fee applies to any return after the scheduled dropoff date. If you need additional time, contact us in advance — extensions are subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 1 hour before your scheduled pickup time receive a full refund of the booking deposit. If you cancel within 1 hour of your scheduled pickup time, or do not show up for your pickup, the booking deposit is forfeited and no refund is issued.

Insurance

All renters must provide proof of personal auto insurance with full or liability coverage, or purchase a daily coverage plan through Yoshi at checkout. Driving without valid coverage is prohibited and voids all protections.

Vehicle Condition

Condition photos are taken at pickup and return. Renters are responsible for any damage beyond normal wear and tear that occurs during the rental period. Damage costs are assessed at return and charged to the card on file.

Prohibited Uses

Vehicles may not be used for illegal activities, rideshare services (Uber, Lyft, etc.), towing, off-road driving, or racing. Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of the rental and additional fees.

Text Messaging (SMS)

By checking the SMS consent box on our booking or screening form, you agree to receive text messages from Yoshi Car Rental at the mobile number you provide, including messages sent by automated systems, about your application and rental — screening updates, booking and pickup/return coordination, payment reminders, and replies to questions you send us. These are service messages tied to your rental, not marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts (we will then coordinate your rental by phone and email instead), or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your number.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our service following any update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
